Sudachi emulates Nintendo Switch. It reads 5 files, 1 of them required: without a required file it does not start games.

The app reads its files from this folder:

%APPDATA%/sudachi/keys/

A user folder beside sudachi.exe is used instead when it exists.

Install this emulator's files

With RetroBat: the installer finds RetroBat and its BIOS folder, then downloads only the files Sudachi reads there and checks each one.

Open the Start menu. Type PowerShell and open it. Paste the line. Press Enter.

Technical notes

Sudachi is a standalone Nintendo Switch emulator forked from yuzu early access 4176 (README.md:1-4). Keys are read from the keys directory of the user data directory named in the data folder (src/common/fs/fs_paths.h:8-9, 18). RetroBat creates the user folder beside sudachi.exe before launching sudachi.exe -g <rom> and never copies keys itself. Key loading stops when neither prod.keys nor title.keys exists (src/core/crypto/key_manager.cpp:649-652). Firmware (system NCAs) is installed through the UI (Tools, Install Firmware, src/sudachi/main.cpp:4130), not read as loose files. Commercial games need the keys. Homebrew (.nro, .nso) runs without keys or firmware.

5 files: 1 required, 4 optional.

In this collection: 5 in repo and 0 missing.

prod.keys required in repo

  • Production keys for NCA decryption (master, key area, header, titlekek)

dev.keys optional in repo

  • Development-unit keys, read instead of prod.keys when use_dev_keys is set

title.keys optional in repo

  • Per-title encryption keys (rights_id to titlekey mappings)

console.keys optional in repo

  • Console-specific keys (BIS, SD seed)

key_retail.bin optional in repo

  • Amiibo decryption keys (two InternalKey structs, 0x50 bytes each)
